Lois Ester (McClure) Braley was freed of her physical pain and went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 8, 2025 in Bradenton, FL.

She was born at home in the small town of Brant Lake, NY to Bernard and Doris (Chapman) McClure on September 23, 1933.

Lois graduated from Horicon Central School, Brant Lake, and attended the Child's Hospital of Practical Nursing, in Albany, NY. After taking her state boards, Lois worked at Saratoga, NY hospital until her marriage to Coolidge T. Braley in 1955.

Lois is survived by sons; Calvin Jay (Bobbie) and Dana Bernard (KyuSun), daughters; Roxanne Williard and Dianne (Pete) Bly and a sister-in -law, Beverly. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Coolidge, her parents, sisters; Glenna and Mary Margaret and brothers; Bob and Jack.

Once her children were in school, Lois worked as an LPN in Evergreen Nursing Home in Warrensburg, NY and North Warren Nursing Home in North Creek, NY. She also worked at Chestertown Health Center when it opened. After taking an EMT course in Glens Falls, NY, she volunteered for the Chestertown Fire Dept. Rescue Squad.

Lois also wrote and directed plays at school with the PTA.

Lois was active in church, playing the piano for services, teaching Sunday School and anything else God asked her to do. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Orange Grove Free Methodist Church, in Bradenton, FL.

Lois and her husband became winter residents in 1985 at the Braden Castle Park in Bradenton, and after her husband's death in 2010, she became a full-time resident.

Lois enjoyed playing shuffleboard, and she won several trophies, she also served as the president of the shuffle club. At the Friday evening "Hymn Sings", she played the piano and directed the chorus for several years. She was also president of the Ladies Club and served five years as the secretary on the Board of Directors.

Lois enjoyed crocheting laprobes for the Beall's senior Christmas tree each December.

For several years, Lois raised Monarch butterflies, until health problems intervened. She enjoyed having people stop by and ask questions, especially the children.

Lois was a strong believer in prayer and not only prayed daily for her family, but also for her church and the residents of Braden Castle Park.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Chestertown, NY.

I loved this dear woman. We were neighbors for many years and I always enjoyed her company as well as Coolidge's. We always bantered adoringly and compared out monarch butterfly hatches. I will miss her.
