Lois Tomine Deming Sandstrom, age 68, of Leechburg, PA entered eternal rest on August 14, 2025 at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh with her daughter Daphne "Buggy" at her side.
Lois was born in Ames, Iowa on July 2, 1957. She was a graduate of Ames High School.
Lois has always been a fighter since birth, fighting every day for her life. She beat so many odds in the medical field, many times surprising the doctors. She had numerous cancer diagnosis, fighting brain cancer the longest, for 20 years. She learned to live every day to the fullest. She had many jobs and many hobbies. She was her happiest when caring for other people and sewing. She had a love for sewing, making matching dresses or Halloween costumes for her daughters. She also made Western outfits for the cowboys and girls horse shows. Most of all, Lois loved her children. She was always there when any of the kids needed her. Lois was also incredibly proud of her grandchildren; she loved them so much.
Lois met the love of her life in February, 2017, Jerry Norris, and he made her so happy. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for each other.
She is survived by her soulmate, Jerry Norris, her children, Nels (Mary) McMullen, Kara (Roy) Snyder and Daphne (Charles) Miller, her grandkids, Jaymison, Tanner, Karmylia, Kyla, Karoixa, Ethan, Brayden, Aarron, Karmyine and Curtis and her daughter's father, Sedric Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Nadean H. Deming, her two brothers, Phillip Deming and Rodney Deming and her beloved grandson, Orion S.K. Miller.
Lois will be laid to rest at a later date at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Kelley, Iowa.
