Lois Katherine Ely

Lois Katherine Ely, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Hiawatha Care Center. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lois was born November 28, 1935, in Waukon Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Pearl (Waters) Henry. She graduated from Waukon High School. She married Duane Keith Ely on September 23, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Lois was an Internation Secretary for the Cherry Burrell Company in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, gardening, baking and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Croy, Coralville, Iowa and Betty McMillan of Bell Gardens, California and her brother Robert G. Henry, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are many family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane K. Ely, her siblings, Charles Henry, Dale Henry, Harold Henry, Milton C. Henry. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice. A special mention to Shavona Vick, RN who took amazing care and compassion of Lois as her final months were approaching.
