Lois passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Huron Woods Nursing home at the age of 81. The daughter of the late Edward and Margaret “Blanche” (Jacobs) Corrion was born October 12, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan. Lois was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and taught Catechism at St. John’s for many years. She was also a member of the Bay County Historical Society, the ARC, the League of Catholic Women, the Essexville Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and was an advocate for the Heritage House in Essexville. Lois retired as the city clerk of Essexville and the Bay County Clerks Association. Lois and Richard were both history buffs and Lois will always be missed as a reliable source for family history
Lois is survived by her son, Jeffrey Englehardt; brother, Paul (Sue) Corrion; sisters-in-law, Ila Corrion, Noreen Corrion, Mary Corrion and Sally Englehardt; brother-in-law, Charles Collins and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Englehardt; sisters, Elaine (Eugene) Jacobs, Lorraine (Richard) McNally, Patricia (Richard) Kunkel, Jane Collins, Janet Corrion; brothers, Joseph Corrion, Ray Corrion, Bill Corrion, Robert Corrion and her brother-in-law, Carl Englehardt.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Huron Woods Nursing Home and Americans Hospice for the compassion and care that they gave to Lois.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Nate Harburg. Private Committal will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on \Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Gephart Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Lois will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the ARC.
