Lois Anna Harmon Evans, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on March 8, 1961, in
Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lois lived a life filled with love for her family and dedication to helping others.
On August 4, 1989, she married the love of her life, Lionel Evans, beginning a cherished partnership that spanned decades. Lois was a proud mother to her son, Joshua Lionell Evans, and delighted in her role as grandmother to Sophie Deanne Evans, Blairie Marai Evans, and Marley Evans, who brought immense joy to her days.
Lois served her community with compassion and hard work. She was employed by the Forestry Service for eight years before transitioning to healthcare, where she found her true calling. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Saint Francis Nursing Home in Oberlin, Louisiana, for 12 years, followed by three years with Allen Parrish Home Health. In these roles, she touched countless lives with her gentle care, patience, and genuine concern for those she served. She greatly enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics.
Lois loved her family dearly. She was the heart of her home, always ready with a listening ear, a warm hug, or a home-cooked meal. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to those she held close will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Lois Anna Harmon Evans will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Lionel Evans; her son, Joshua Lionell Evans; her mother, Semonia Harmon; her grandchildren, Sophie, Blairie, and Marley; her siblings, Deloise and her husband Richard Hanks of Houston, Texas, and Larry and his wife Roslyn Harmon of
Kinder, Louisiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed by her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alcide Harmon, and her brother, Harrison Harmon.
Visitation will be held in the Reed Chapel - Riley Smith & Sons - Kinder, 315 N 14th Street,
Kinder, Louisiana 70648 on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 604 4th Avenue,
Kinder, Louisiana. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery a.k.a. Soileau Cemetery, 1093 Highway 104E, Oberlin, Louisiana.
