Lois Jane (Lindstrom) Gundstrom, 91, of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 at her last earthly home in Diamond Willow Lester Park. Heartful thanks go to their kind and amazing staff along with the team of St. Luke's Hospice Care.
Lois was born on February 19, 1934, as the only child to Ernest and Mina Lindstrom. She attended Washburn Elementary School and graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1952. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1956, majoring in elementary education. She worked as an educator for many years in Duluth, and spent her most cherished years at Hermantown Schools in special education.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Gundstrom.
Lois is survived by her son, Robert K. (Terese) Gundstrom; daughter, Suzanne (Alan) Sabroski; grandchildren, Sean Gundstrom, Ryan Gundstrom, Chelsey McLean, Samantha Johnson, Joseph Sabroski, and Hannah Sabroski; and ten great-grandchildren.
Lois loved her family, Lake Superior, a good meal, a good laugh, flowers, sunshine, politics, reading, and staying in touch with old friends. She was a wonderful grandmother and went to every concert, recital, sports game, birthday, wedding and graduation of her grandkids. She was smart as a whip and could knock out a New York Times crossword puzzle in one sitting. She will be very dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 10th at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, 2105 Woodland Ave, Duluth, with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.
