Lois Hart

Lois Hart, 90, formerly of Manson, died August 4, 2025, at Edencrest of Green Meadows in Johnston, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manson. Visitation prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Gunderson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Lois Mae Berns was born on March 26, 1935, at her maternal grandparent's home near Lidderdale to Henry and Mae (Peters) Berns. Lois lived near Lanesboro and attended Hobbs Country School until 8th grade and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1953. After graduation she worked at Bankers Insurance in Des Moines until working in Carroll, Iowa. Lois married Keith Hart of Lanesboro on June 3, 1955. Keith and Lois lived in Dayton, Gilmore City, Havelock and Plover where Keith was employed as a teacher and coach. In 1965 the couple moved to Nishna Valley schools where Keith was the principal for 2 years and then superintendent in Lytton for 6 years. In 1973 they moved to Manson, where Keith retired in 1993.

Survivors include her children Marty (Deb) Hart of Manson, Tammy (Rick) Whitney of Des Moines, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith, an infant brother Norman, and her son, Mark Hart. She loved her family very much and she will be deeply missed.
