Lois Virginia Hice, age 89, of Marietta, Ga went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs with Dr. Richard Walker, Pastor Mike Boatfield and Pastor Keith Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta. She will lie in state from 9am until 10am at the church prior to the ceremony.
A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Hice lived in Cobb County for most of her life. She was a graduate of West Fulton High School in Atlanta. She was one of the founding members of Floyd Road Baptist Church, and a member of Macland Baptist Church since 1984. Mrs. Hice loved singing in the choir and in a quartet with her husband Gene. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Lottie Richard, a daughter, Allison Elaine Hice, a sister, Louise Butler, and a brother, Kenneth Richard.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gene Hice; 2 sons, Barry Eugene (Dianne) Hice, Austell, GA, and Byron Scott (Jana) Hice, Marietta, GA; 2 brothers, Douglas Richard, Powder Springs, GA, and Danny (Teresa) Richard, Dallas, GA; sister-in-law, Beverly Richard, Powder Springs, GA; 2 grandchildren, Jordan (Scott) Barner and Logan (Lauren) Hice; 4 great grandchildren, Cheyanne, Hannah, Laney and Allison Jean.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
