Lois Kellet Obituary
In Loving Memory Lois Kellet, 1952-2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Kellet, the beloved wife of David Kellet. Lois was born on July 15, 1952, in Hometown Pennsylvania to Donald and Annie Walters, deceased. Lois is survived by her siblings Patricia Matula and husband James, Robert Hollenbach husband of Marie, Donna Zlocki and husband Patrick Smith, Donald Walters, and Judi Walters husband Gregg MacDonald. She was preceded in death by her sister Marie, her sister-in-law Jackie Walters and her nephew Sean Strickland.
Lois treasured her nieces and nephews: Danielle Matula Ficco, husband Jonathan Boggs; Christopher Matula, wife Michelle; Rob Hollenbach, wife Heather; Colette Hollenbach Cunningham; Gabriella Zlocki, husband David Marcano; Jon Walters; Rachel Walters Convoy husband Andre Convoy. She also has numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Lois graduated from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Allentown Pennsylvania and obtained her RN license. She also obtained her associate's degree in business management at Northampton Community College. Her medical degree and her humanitarianism led her to work for the American Red Cross as Chairmen of Volunteers both in the States and in Germany. Her commitment resulted in the American Red Cross "Clara Barton" award for Meritorious Volunteer Leadership.
Lois also worked for many years as the corporate office manager for McDonalds. She was responsible for all aspects of business management of multiple restaurants. Her medical background later led her back to serving as a patient advocate and Director of Volunteers at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was recognized for her compassion in working with elderly volunteers and supervision of adult volunteers and students.
Lois moved to Florida ten years ago and began a whole new volunteer service. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, she realized the void in services to this population. She helped set up and run a support group for Parkinson's patients and their families. Lois helped families to cope with their new diagnosis. She was recognized by the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Organization for her work as an educator for the disease.
Lois had a fantastic sense of humor and love for life and travel. She made friends all over the world. She loved children and was known as "Aunt Po" to her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She shared her writings and her stories with family and friends and published much of her work in the Magazines for Parkinson patients.
Lois 's unique ability to share also influenced our family. Our family outings would always have plans that included fun runs, aerobic activities, games, fun facts and things to bring together a shared experience. She thought ahead so we would all enjoy our gifts together.
It is a very sad time for all of us, friends and family . We will miss this very dynamic human being who brought so much joy to our lives.
