Lois Mae Kennedy

Lois Mae Kennedy, age 89, of Powell, Ohio, passed away on November 6, 2025. She was born
in Ellwood City, PA, on October 6, 1936, to the late Hilmar and Adda Beisecker. Lois was a
faithful lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She graduated from East High School in Akron
in 1954 and earned her teaching degree from Wittenberg University. She later received her
Master's Degree in Education from the University of Akron. Lois dedicated over 25 years to
teaching in an elementary school, leaving a lasting impact on the many students she taught.
Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed reading,
shopping, going out to eat, and visiting the "beauty shop." Lois took great pride in staying
connected with family and friends through phone calls and handwritten letters. Her life was a
beautiful reflection of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Hilmar and Adda Beisecker; her sister and
brother-in-law, Gertrude and Jim Heffernan; and her brother-in-law, Doug Little. She is survived
by her sister, Hilma Little, and her three sons: Scott Kennedy (wife, Karen), Thomas Kennedy,
and Michael Kennedy. Her love extended through generations to her cherished grandchildren
and great-grandchildren: Sarah Robison (husband, Javan), Ashley Kennedy (fiancé, Justin
Anderson), Payton Kennedy, Sam Kennedy (fiancée, Lexa Luscher), and Kolt Kennedy. Lois
adored her great-granddaughters, Jenna and Sophie Robison, who were a constant source of
joy in her later years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Rutherford Funeral
Home, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065. A memorial service will follow
