Lois King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen Funeral Home - Morristown on Feb. 3, 2026.
Lois Ann (Kate) King, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2026. Kate retired from Wallace Hardware after 45 years of dedicated service and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for 80 years. A devoted Christian, she lived her life as a reflection of God's grace, kindness, and unwavering faith.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Kate was known for her gentle spirit, strong values, and steadfast trust in the Lord. Her legacy of faith and love will continue through the many lives she touched, especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, David Darrell King; her parents Ernest F. and Mayme Sue Horner; her siblings Elmer Horner, Gertrude Buchanan, Ernest F. Horner, Jr., Fannie Ray Helton, Robert (Bobby) Horner, Betty Jo Horner, Billie Wolfe, and Tommy Horner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, David (Fonda) King and Darla (Gary "Buddy") Kilby; grandchildren of whom she was very proud of, Rachael (Richard) Ripley, Raven (Shane) Borie, Zach (Taylor) Kilby, Nick Kilby, Mackenzie (Matt) Harmon; blessings of great-grandchildren, Bailey Purkey, Riley Ripley, Hayden Hall, Wrenley and Riggs Kilby, Ellie and Colt Harmon. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dwayne King as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Flora Price, Dinah Bowman and others with Holly's Helping Hands, nurses Annette D'Agosta and Shannon Hefner with Gentiva Hospice for their kindness, love and compassionate care.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Danny Bell officiating.
