LOIS LEWIS 07/29/1923 - 07/06/2025 Lois Iona Lewis, 101, a resident of Plattsburg, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Oak Ridge of Plattsburg where she has been a resident since 2005. Services were 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Carson-Speaks Chapel with burial following in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the chapel. Lois was born July 29, 1923, in Oregon County, Mo., to Claude F. and Floy Alba (Johnson) Blankenship. She was a teacher primarily in one-room schoolhouses and taught in the last class at Prathersville, Mo., school. Later in life she spent her retirement volunteering at schools and had served as the school librarian assistant. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and cherished community member. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Plattsburg. She was married to James M. Lewis for many years until his passing on September 30, 1994. She is survived by a son, James Lewis and his wife Peggy of Plattsburg; a daughter, Kathryn Arons and husband Perry of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Sue Lahey and husband William of Independence, Mo., and Louise Kingston of Oak Grove, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jamie Wise, Ronie McBride (Kenny), Heather Stephens, Morgan Lucas (Eric), Jordyn Rosen (JJ), Stephen Walter and Stephanie Walter; eight great-grandchildren, Devyn, Dakota, Dalton, Michael, William, Reign, Maddie and Sebastian; three great-great-grandchildren, Ryder, Callahan and Colter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lewis in 2022 and six siblings, Anna June Adams, John Blankenship, Fonda Brewer Wilma Miller, Mary Jo Link and Dewey Blankenship.
