Lois Mullins Obituary

Lois V. Mullins, born on November 15, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life on April 18, 2025. Known affectionately to her grandchildren as "Grandma Pig," Lois was a warm and welcoming presence to her family and friends.

A faithful member of Indian Creek Baptist Church in Georgetown, Lois found joy in her faith and in the cherished community that surrounded her. Her love for travel took her to many beautiful places, with Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge holding special places in her heart. Lois spent many enjoyable evenings on her front porch, hosting gatherings that warmed the hearts of all who attended. These conversations became treasured memories, reflecting her spirit of hospitality and love for connection. She had an infectious enthusiasm for going on drives, often seeking out scenic views and local yard sales, where she would delight in finding hidden treasures. Her hobbies extended to enjoying puzzles, a pursuit that matched her sharp intellect.

Lois's legacy will be carried on by her loving children, Phillip (Terry) Cook, Chris (Nancy) Cook, and Amy (Denny) Stone, who remain grateful for the lessons of kindness, generosity, and resilience she imparted. Lois also leaves behind a remarkable lineage that includes seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom added immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Dale (Pat) Reader.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Orion Mullins; her special friend, Kenny Crohn; her parents, George Reader and Minnie Monroe Reader; and her siblings, Sara Pryor, Pete Warren, Tommy Reader, and Joe Reader.

As we reflect on the life of Lois V. Mullins, we are reminded of her enduring love for family and her joyful laughter that will resonate within the hearts of many. Her gracious spirit will be deeply missed, but her memories will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Greenville (Greenlawn) Cemetery.
