Lois "Alberta" Nance, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri.
She was born March 25, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of J.W. "Bill" and Meda (Wilhite) Call. On August 24, 1956 at Shiloh Church in Jenkins, Missouri she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lowell Dean Nance, who preceded her in death on May 23, 2019, who she missed every day. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one niece, Shari Nance; one sister-in-law, Judy Nance and two brothers-in-law, Rodney Nance, and Carl Nance.
Surviving are three nephews, Roger Nance, Ray Nance, and Carl Dean Nance; one niece, Diana Dobbs and one sister-in-law, Mabel Nance.
Alberta attended 8 different schools from California to Missouri. The family eventually settled in Cassville, Missouri where she graduated from Cassville High School in 1954. She continued her education at Southwest Baptist University in Springfield, Missouri earning a degree in business. During her time there she gave her life to Christ. Alberta was employed by Dr. Charles Price from 1962-1969, Dr. Max Maloney from 1969-1975, Dr. Estel Landreth from 1975-1982, Dr. Carolyn Hunter Burford from 1983-1993 and from 1994-1998 she was employed by South Barry County Hospital from where she retired. Alberta was a member of the Red Hat Society. There were 5 special ladies in Alberta's life that cared for and loved her very much, Debbie, Perrylene, Lou Ann, Carolyn, and Gail, they held a very important place in her heart.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Ken West will conduct the services.
Contributions may be made to Wolfner Talking Book and Braille Library in memory of Alberta.
