Lois E. (Spencer) Petersen, 84, passed away at her home in Raytown MO March 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. Lois was the third of eleven children born to Delbert Leroy and Juanita Virginia (Barnum) Spencer. She was born September 17, 1940 in Osceola, MO.

She lived in the Armourdale district of Kansas City, KS for more than 50 years before moving to Harrisonville, MO in 2021. She moved to Raytown, MO in 2024.

When Lois was a young mom, she was a supervisor at Dairy Queen training new employees. She loved bringing home the trainees’ “mistakes” as treats for her kids. Later she was a supervisor of housekeeping for assisted living centers in Overland Park.

Lois was a hard worker her whole life, a decent and honorable lady who deeply loved her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. All were always welcome in her home and she treated everyone like they were her family. She never had to try to be humble and kind. That's just the way she was.

Survivors include daughters Beth Bramell (Ray), Lorraine Waltermate (Clyde), Vicky Cropp (Robert), and son Harry, Jr.; sisters Mildred Young and Rhoda Crawford and brothers Delbert, Kenny (Sherry), Frank (Tonya) and Fred; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded by her parents; sisters Shirley, Jeanie, Donna and Lola Kay; older brother Leland; and grandson Chris.
