Lois Risner Obituary
At the age of 8, Lois and her family moved to Jasper, Michigan where she attended Sand Creek Schools. On January 8, 1952, she married Charles Raymond Risner at Adrian City Hall. Together they raised 9 children in Jasper and cherished over 66 years of memories before his passing on September 26, 2018. Lois worked for Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian for over 20 years as a nurse's aide. Following the children's graduations from Sand Creek Schools, Lois and Charles relocated to Adrian where they spent their retirement.
Lois is survived by five sons, Charles M. (Deb), David, Edward, Glen, and Keith (Stephanie) Risner; four daughters, Joy (Kirk) Gilbert, Julie Black, Christina (Jim) Knowles, and Denise (Chris) Chandler; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Mark Divert; sisters-in-law, Arlene Divert and Linda Risner; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Jerry Divert.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from Noon until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. Rev. William Van Valkenburg will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery.
