A Celebration of Life honoring Lois Elaine Murphy Posey Scruggs, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana, with Rev. Linnie Lindsay and Bro. Tommy McMellon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Honoring Elaine as pallbearers will be Joshua Young, John-William Vercher, Levi Young, James Posey, Greg Posey, and Shane Murphy.
Elaine was born on December 3, 1937, in Houston, Texas to Aubrey Murphy and Lucille Murphy. She passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ted W. Posey and her second husband Wyatt Scruggs; her brother-in-law, Bo Posey; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Posey, and Kay Murphy; niece, Tiffany Murphy and nephew, William Bryan Murphy.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Posey Vercher; brothers, Delbert Murphy (Edna) from Huntington, Texas and Billy Murphy (Sarah) from Stanley, Louisiana. The joys of her life; her grandbabies, Joshua Young (Brittany) of Stonewall, Louisiana, Emily Young (Aaron) of Grand Cane, Louisiana; and John-William Vercher of Stanley, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Levi Young, Ryleigh Young, Presley Young, Sawyer Young, and Wyatt Young.
Elaine’s legacy to her family and friends is one unwavering love for The Lord and Savior and her family, her strong convictions and dedication to her family will continue to grow in the lives of those she has touched.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Staff at the Bradford in Shreveport, and especially to Life Path Hospice for taking such great care of our matriarch and loving her. A very special thank you to a couple of her nurses, Bridget, Kasey, and Amelia, and for Life Paths – Noli, Jane and the CNA’s you were all so loving with her and thank you can’t say enough.
