Lois Ollene Turner Hayes

With loving remembrance, the family of Lois Ollene Turner Hayes shares that she passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2026, following complications associated with advanced age.
Born in Haines City, Florida, Lois spent her early years in both Haines City and Altamont, Tennessee, before returning to her hometown at age 14. On May 9, 1948, she married her husband, Howard Herman Hayes, in Haines City, beginning a partnership that would last until his passing on July 11,1999.
In 1960, Lois and Herman moved their young family to Tampa, Florida, where they lovingly raised four children: Howard Herman Hayes, Jr., James Keith Hayes (Peggy), Elizabeth Hayes Williams, and Pamela Suzanne Hayes Dallon. Lois and Herman later settled in Ocala, Florida. Lois later joined her family living in Utah where she made her home for the remainder of her life.
Lois leaves behind her children, sixteen grandchildren, and thirty-four great-grandchildren, each touched by her deep and caring devotion.
She found joy in sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, canning, and was known for her compassionate service to family and friends. Lois touched the lives of all who knew her, offering kindness, care, and a special sense of belonging to everyone she met.
A service to honor Lois's life is scheduled for Jan. 24, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alpine Building, 259 East Alpine Drive, Elk Ridge, Utah. A viewing will take place from 2:00 to 2:45 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3 pm. Lois will be interred alongside her husband, Herman Hayes, in Ocala, Florida.
All who knew Lois will hold dear lasting memories of her compassion, kindness, and Christ-like service to others.
