Lois Wetherald, 85, of Columbus, died at 5:27 a.m. on April 16, 2024, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Lois was born December 15, 1938, in Brownstown, Indiana, the daughter of George Allman and Lillian Richardson Harding. She married Robert Ray Wetherald on May 28, 1955.
Lois worked and retired from Cummins in 1987. She enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting, dancing, NASCAR, dirt racing, and bowling. Lois was an avid Elvis fan and everyone enjoyed her delicious hamburgers. The most important thing in life for her was her family. She cared for her son Bobby his entire life. She will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2024, with Mike Wetherald officiating. Calling will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Wetherald; son, Robert Ray Wetherald Jr. of Columbus; daughter Michelle (Dave) Waggoner of North Vernon; sisters, Ida Rothbauer and Roberta Phillips both of Columbus; grandchildren, Brandon Norman, Cassie Stilwell, and David Waggoner; great-grandchildren, Addie, Mia, Wyatt, Aubrey, Emma, Lydia, Raelynn, Sawyer, Charli, Oliver, Holley, and Allie; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Allman and Lillian Richardson Harding.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
