Lois Williamson

Lois Jean Williamson, born January 26, 1939, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on December 31, 2025, at the age of 86. Lois was the cherished daughter of Maurice Eugene Blackburn and Lois Evelyn Blackburn, who nurtured her love of learning and creativity from an early age. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1957 and continued her education at San Jacinto Junior College in Pasadena.

On January 18, 1963, Lois married the love of her life, Billy Wayne Williamson. Together, they built a home filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. Their partnership remained a constant source of strength throughout her life.

Lois worked for many years as a dedicated and meticulous accountant and bookkeeper, bringing integrity and care to every task. Outside of her professional life, she embraced her passions wholeheartedly. She had a lifelong love for the arts. She shared that gift generously by teaching art classes at the neighborhood center and welcoming students into her home, where creativity and encouragement flourished. Lois once took flying lessons and briefly owned her own plane. Additionally, her adventurous spirit shone brightest on the water. Lois loved to sail and proudly captained her own sailboat, finding peace and joy in the wind, waves, and open sky. She absolutely adored traveling and took numerous trips, both internationally and within the United States. Exploring new places brought her so much joy, and she especially loved cruising with family and friends. The adventures they shared created some of her most cherished memories.

Lois had a passion for entertaining and loved hosting celebrations for family and friends during Easter, with Easter egg hunts, Fourth of July barbecues, and Christmas parties, as well as various other events. An avid reader, she enjoyed reading each night before going to sleep. Lois also liked working on jigsaw puzzles; after her retirement, she dedicated her evenings to this hobby, often completing a puzzle every week and then immediately starting a new one. She inherited a love for plants from her grandmothers and mother and found joy in gardening.

A devoted wife and mother, Lois was preceded in death by her two beloved children, Rebecca Renee Rosemond and Sean Heath Williamson, whose memories she carried tenderly in her heart. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Lois Blackburn, and brother, Wayne Blackburn.

Lois is survived by her loving husband, Billy Williamson; her sisters Gail Herring (Tommy Herring), Nancy Isaacks, and Deborah Rucker; sister-in-law, Lily Blackburn, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind many dear friends who enriched her life and cherished her deeply.

Lois will be remembered for her gentle heart, her artistic spirit, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the beauty she brought into the world.
