JONESBORO - Lomer Gene Turney Jr., 50, of Jonesboro, went on to meet the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 6, 1975, in Jonesboro.
Lomer Gene found happiness in life's simple moments. He loved the outdoors and spent his time hunting, fishing, and driving gravel roads listening to music. Watching the sun come up was one of his quiet joys. Lomer was known for his warm heart, kind nature, and his genuine love for others.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 7 years, Cindy Miesner Turney.
Lomer is survived by his parents, Lomer and Marjorie Turney; sister, Pam (Kevin) Russell; daughter, Caragan (Caleb Waugh) Woods; grandsons Sammy and Camden Waugh; nieces, Ashley Sellers, Stephanie Purdy; nephew, Dylan Russell, and great nieces and nephews.
Lomer Gene will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Rick Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery with active pallbearers being Billy Ellerbrook, Robert Burgess, Mikel Wewers, Ty Pitcock, Corey Beeson, Aric Keller, and Charles Cooper. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
