Gene Collins passed away on August 26, 2025, at his home in Selma. He was born on August 15, 1948 to (Ruby Wadsworth and Lonnie Collins) and was raised around farmland in the Brogden area. Mr. Gene took many career paths throughout his life such as doing bodywork, selling cars, and working at Big Boys truck stop. Later in life, he helped manage and run a very successful commercial landscaping business with his best friend for many years.

After retirement, he enjoyed spending his time at auctions and tractor shows with his friends and teaching others about life and its ups and downs. He also enjoyed spending holidays with his cousins, extended family, and friends. After his best friend Tim died, he picked up the torch and helped look after his two sons, Noah and Kyle Dale. His loyalty and dedication never wavered. Gene could be found at Big Boys in the evenings conversing with friends over a meal or tinkering on small projects in his shop. Gene was a friend of friends to those who got to know him.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his 3 cousins: Carolyn, Charlotte , and Annette.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
