Lonnie Gene Prillaman, 77, of Corinne, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 4:12 AM with his wife, Sheila and son, Nicholas by his side.
Born October 23, 1946, at Bassett, Virginia, he was the son of the late, George Patrick and Sally Flora (Thompson) Prillaman.
Lonnie had a strong work ethic and a deep love for coal mining which was evident with his 30 plus years of service. He was a member of UMWA. After Lonnie's disability from the coalmines, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his girls, Saylor and Ayva. Lonnie was an avid sports fan especially for the West Virginia Mountaineers, Washington Redskins, and the Cincinnati Reds.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Woody, Nadine Hamrick, and Edith Willingham; and one brother, George Shockley Prillaman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Sheila Prillaman; one son, Nicholas Prillaman and his wife, Misty; two granddaughters, Saylor and Ayva Prillaman; one daughter, Tammy Covington and her husband, Chris; one grandson, Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Services will be 12 Noon, Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Mullens Family Worship Center with Pastor John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Austin Canada, McQuade Canada, Reuben Prillaman, Jamie Clark, Roby Lambert, JD McKinney, Kyle Ellis, and Travis McKinney.
In Lonnie's memory, it is not mandatory but please dress casual, and wear your WVU attire.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Bowers Hospice House and the nurses at Raleigh General on 4 North for the care that was shown to Lonnie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy may be made in Lonnie's memory to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
