Lora Leigh Askew Michael

Lora Michael, 52, of Apex, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. She was surrounded by loving family throughout her illness and at her passing.
She was born on September 13, 1971, in Washington, NC to the late Larry Russell Askew, and Billie Carol Elliott Askew. Lora was predeceased by her eldest son, Austin Michael.
Lora was a member of Union Chapel FWB Church. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was an ECU Pirate fan.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She always enjoyed new and challenging endeavors especially if they provided an outlet to enjoy her love of cooking. Lora also loved planning the many trips that she took with her family. She worked for many years as a pharmacist and, in later years, as a realtor, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family.
Per her wishes, there will be no service at this time. A reception will be planned at a later date.
Lora is survived by her husband, Kevin Michael; her son, Zack Michael; her daughter, Brooke Michael; her beloved dog, Graham; her mother, Billie E. Askew of Plymouth; her sister, Cindy Reaves (Tre') of Ayden; her grandmother, Natalie Elliott; her father- and mother-in-law, Steve and Loretta Michael of Chapel Hill; her brother-in-law, Josh Michael (Claire) of Morrisville; her loving niece and nephews, Abigail Michael, Ethan Michael and Luke Reaves; and many beloved aunts, uncles and extended family.
