Loreather "Reat" Tellis was born on December 8, 1952, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Allen Mitchell Tellis and Daisy Tellis. At an early age, she relocated with her family from Dothan, Alabama, to Detroit, Michigan, where she would spend most of her life, later moving to Columbus, OH.
Loreather shared 52 loving years with her common-law husband, Curtis Armour Sr., who preceded her in death on March 30, 2025.
She was a devoted mother to four children and grandmother of 16.
Loreather deeply cherished her family and found great joy in family gatherings. She especially enjoyed playing volleyball, Keno, and Spades with loved ones.
Dancing was one of her greatest pleasures-whenever music played, Loreather was always the first on the dance floor. Known for her honesty and direct nature, she never hesitated to speak her mind. One of her favorite things to do was riding around on her ten-speed bicycle!
Loreather earned an Associate Degree from Detroit Business Institute (DBI). Throughout her career, she held various positions and worked with several organizations, including Hernick's Bakery, St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, a Home Health Aide, and the United States Postal Service.
Loreather leaves to cherish her memory her loving Children: Winona Tellis, Tomecca Russell (Douglas) and Curtis Armour Jr. (Stephanie); her Siblings: Sylvester-Buck, Martha (Gregory), Henry-Lee (Sheila), Phillip, Phyllis, Jerome, and Angela; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Common law husband Curtis, daughter Erma, three grandsons, parents: Allen Mitchell Tellis and Daisy Tellis; her siblings: James, Carolyn, Guy-Mitch, Susan and Annette Tellis.
Loreather will be fondly remembered for her infectious sense of humor, straightforward nature, loving spirit, her favorite songs and love of the Lord. Her legacy will continue to live on through the love, laughter, and memories shared by her family and friends.
