Loree Evans, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023, at her home in
Pageland, South Carolina with her family by her side. Born on July 29, 1939, in
Marshville, North Carolina, to Charles Lee Autry and Lovetta Taylor Autry. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Evans Nicholson; granddaughter, Brittany Taylor Nicholson and sisters, Margie Evans and Dale Evans.
Loree was a woman of strong faith and was a dedicated member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. Her commitment to her faith and community extended beyond the church doors. Loree worked tirelessly at the Community Center and ball field for the City of Pageland and Oak Hill Baptist Church where she built many lasting friendships.
She was a devoted wife to her husband, Max Evans, and a loving mother to her daughter, Patricia Wallace and her husband, Eddie. She was also a cherished grandmother to her grandsons, Brandon Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Nicholas Wallace, James Wade Nicholson and Grant Evan Nicholson and her great grandchildren, Dylan Wallace, Rylea Wallace, Kaylin Wallace, Grayden Wallace, Cameron Wallace, Haven Wallace, Sadie Wallace, Nathan Wallace, Hunner Wallace and Brytal Wallace. Loree's family extended beyond blood relations. She held a special place in her heart for her son of the heart, Andre Singleton of
Pageland, SC. She was also a dear sister to Bonnie Newland and Lavonne Floyd, with whom she shared a tight bond.
In her lifetime, Loree became known for her love for children. She had a special way with them and was known to affectionately pinch their cheeks. Loree stepped in to help her grandsons after their mother, Sharon, passed away, providing them with love and support during a difficult time.
Loree was a homemaker at heart. She loved to cook and clean. Her home was often filled with laughter, as Loree had a great sense of humor and a knack for making people feel at ease. Loree was also a hard worker who kept her yard well-manicured and often helped her husband in the fields.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the countless memories she created with her family and friends. Her legacy of love, service, and commitment to her community will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her immediate family, Loree is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. The life of Helen Loree Evans was a testament to her values of love, faith, and community service. She will be remembered not only for her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister but also for her contributions to her community.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Church. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Home with Pastor Caroll Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
