Loren Travis DeTienne, friend to all, passed away after a prolonged battle with mental illness on September 19, 2023, at the age of 47.
He is survived by his loving sister, Tina Marie DeTienne, his niece Tianna LaChelle DeTienne, nephew Jevon Marcell DeTienne, and many half sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. His mother, Phyllis Martha DeTienne and his father Loren Myron Austin predeceased him.
Loren was born in
Billings, MT on October 3rd, 1975; and lived there until his late teens. As an adolescent full of life, he loved to ride bicycles with his friends, read comic books and collect baseball cards. Loren attended McKinley Elementary School where he forged lifelong friendships with his closest friends. After that he attended Lewis and Clark Junior High and Billings Senior High School.
Loren was a musician at heart, starting in youth when he took over his sister's drum set and formed a garage band. He loved his heavy metal music and attending concerts.
Although Loren called Houston home, he would make annual trips on the Greyhound to Seattle, Detroit, and Billings to visit family and friends. You could always find Loren at the gym lifting weights or at the library surfing the web. He loved to cook, gamble at the casino, go camping and just spending time outdoors in general.
Loren loved watching football with family and friends and would revel in his team's wins. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan but would root for his sister Tina's team, the Dallas Cowboys as well. He would light up a room with his laugh; it was infectious. He was the life and soul of every party and would loudly greet everyone with his favorite made up word "Badow"!
We will cherish every minute spent with the best son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Loren, you touched many lives and will continue to be in our hearts forever along with Mom.
