Lorena Barron Stephens, 90, a resident of McComb, died January 15, 2010 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. She was born January 27, 1919 in McComb. She was the daughter of John Barron and Laura Williams Barron. She was a member of Pearl River United Methodist Church where she was a very active member until her health began to fail her. She was a former Sunday School teacher and worker and was the founder of the Nancy Hale Circle which she was very active. She was retired from McComb Manufacturing where she worked for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles 'Brother' Barron and two sisters, Janet Brown and Maudree Andrews. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Earl L. Stephens, Sr. of McComb; two sons and daughters-in-law, E. Leon Stephens, Jr. and Lynette of St. Augustine, FL and James W. 'Jim' Stephens and Carole of Nesbitt, MS ; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lillie Turner of Ohio, Ethel and James Felder of Summit, Georgia Robertson of McComb and Emily 'Tootsie' and Howard Carlisle of McComb; four grandchildren, Brian Stephens and Shelley Smith and husband, Donnie Smith, Jr. all of Jacksonville, FL, Taylor Stephens of Oxford, MS and Andrew Stephens of Nesbitt, MS; three great-grandchildren, Conner Stephens of Louisville, KY, Emily Smith and Walker Smith, both of Jacksonville, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday from 5PM until 7PM at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb. Funeral services will be Monday at 10AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Skip Atchison and Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery.
