Lorene was what I'd consider a 2nd cousin. Her Dad and my Grandmother were brother and sister. As a child I remember Lorene and her sister, Creta, being at my Great Aunts on a farm near Norton,Ks. They took my sister, cousins and I on a "Bear hunt". I always remembered that! We never saw each other very often, but in later years got in contact and whenever my husband and I would go to Colorado, we'd go Lakewood and visit her. I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with her. We also wrote letters back and forth. The last visit was in September of 2016. I shall miss going to visit her.
