Mrs. Lorene E. Carver

Lorene E. Carver, 88, of Charlottesville, Virginia died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Charlottesville Health & Rehabilitation. Born January 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Pearly and Susie M. Bennington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murray W. Carver, a daughter, Shelby Jean and a granddaughter, Alison Lea Spencer. She is survived by her daughters; Judy Clark of Esmont, Virginia; Brenda Spencer and her husband Gene of Earlysville, Virginia; a grandson, Brian Spencer of Earlysville, Virginia; a nephew, Allen Carver of Cumming, Georgia; a nephew, Emmett Carver of Keswick, Virginia; a niece, Jane Bickers of Crozet, Virginia and numerous other family members and friends. Lorene retired as a sales clerk after twenty eight years at Sears Roebuck and Company. After retirement, she worked at the Martha Jefferson Hospital cafeteria. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Teague Chapel. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019. The family wishes to thank the staff of Charlottesville Health and Rehab and the folks of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for the special care given to Lorene.
