Lorene "Lori" Jenson (Hanevold)
September 10, 1935 - November 29, 2025
God welcomed to Heaven Lorene "Lori" Jenson (Hanevold) on Saturday, November 29, 2025 after she passed peacefully at home at the age of 90. Up until the end, Lori maintained her spunk, spirit, love of family, and her desire to enjoy life. Lori has a love of many things including baking, reading, watching her kids/grandchildren/great grandchildren in sports, playing cards, and having coffee with friends. Lori also was a self taught pianist and also played the accordion. Lori loved dancing and was known to frequent some casinos. Lori was a member of "Homemakers" and spent several years on a bowling league. She had a strong faith which she passed on to others through her works with the church. Lori spent many hours setting up and running the Food Pantry at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound.
Lori was born on September 10, 1935 to Albin and Ada(Narveson) Hanevold in Fly Creek, WI. She attended school in Whitehall, WI and graduated in 1953. Lori married her soul mate on September 15, 1956 in Whitehall and they settled in Elk Mound for the 69 years they were married until Vic's death in January of this year. Vic and Lori enjoyed many trips to various places, especially fishing trips to Canada to camp in the back woods to fish and pick blueberries.
Lori and Vic had five children: Mark Steven (welcomed to Heaven as a newborn), Bruce (Rhonda), Brian (Jill), Vicki (Geno) Johnson, and Wendy (Ryan) Sterry. They had 11 grandchildren: Thea (Aaron) Vasey, Adam (Steph), Steven (Bailey), Katy (Andy) Tyynismaa, Jenny Andrashko, Becky (Brandon) Kratzer, Susie (Greg) Feit, Stephanie (Joe) Larson, Sami (Andrew) Behnke, Brooklyn Sterry and Andie Sterry. They also had nineteen great grandchildren: Oliver, Stella, Talon, Nora, Lincoln, Ellie, Grayson, Hazel, Cecelia, Braxtin, Shantell, Jillian, Jackie, Julia, Journey, Landon, Emery, Bennett and Baylor.
Lori treasured each moment being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Marilyn "Jeanie" (Morrie) Guinn, sister-in-laws Donna (Connie) Shager, Judy (Lyn) Dieter, and Elaine Giese as well as a brother-in-law David Jenson and many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lori leaves behind many wonderful friends.
Lori was greeted in Heaven by her husband Vic, son Mark, parents Albin and Ada Hanevold, father/mother-in-law Wilmer and Inez Jenson,brother and sister-in-law Philip and Elsie Hanevold, sister/brother-in-law Dorris and Art Mohr, and brother-in-law Jim Giese.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 5, 2025 at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound, WI with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating. Burial will be at the Barum Cemetery, township of Elk Mound. There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Mayo Home Health, Visiting Angels (Ruthie and Melissa), and St. Croix Hospice for their help and guidance to allow Lori to be at home. Their expertise, care and kindness will be well remembered. We would also like to thank the staff at Olson Funeral Home for their understanding and professionalism. Lori's journey has been filled with so many wonderful and gifted people. She had a life well lived.
