Lorenzo Gaines (Pop) departed this life on October 2, 2023. He was born October 21,1958 to the late Roosevelt Curley Mae Gaines. He was predeceased by four brothers John Henry Johnson, Winston, Benny, and Lonnie Gaines, five sisters Valerie, Doris, Pamela, Rose and Idella Gaines. Lorenzo was educated in the Glassboro Public School System in Glassboro, NJ. He resided in Sacramento, California from 1997-2009 and returned back to Glassboro where he lived out the rest of his years.
Lorenzo worked as a Janitor for Elsmere School in Glassboro, NJ and in Dietary at United Methodist Communities in Pitman, NJ. While in Sacramento, Lorenzo also worked for a car glass replacement company.
Lorenzo loved to whistle. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and old movies and having a good time listening to music with family and friends. He loved his family and would often reminisce of childhood memories and all the good times.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Anneesha Jernegons of Williamstown, NJ, a son, Khali Jernegons of Sewell, NJ; two grandchildren Empress Roland and Jahari Roland; three sisters, Diane Gunther of Camden, NJ, Vestine and Carol Gaines of Glassboro, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Rachel Johnson of Camden, New Jersey and Geneva Gaines of Glassboro, New Jersey; a long time special friend Tambria Evelyn Swift of Clayton, New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
