Loretha Stukes Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Loretha Oliver Stukes, 66, of Vance, South Carolina, who transitioned on Friday, June 28, 2024, at MUSC Health Orangeburg. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home.
Loretha Oliver Stukes Life Reflections
Loretha was born in Vance, South Carolina on July 13, 1957, to the late Van Oliver Jr. and Ella Frances Mallard. She entered eternal rest on Friday, June 28, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gwendolyn (Robert) Wright, Annie Belle Jamison, and Laverne White; and brothers, Kelvin Oliver, Melvin Oliver, James Oliver, and Esau Jenkins; and her adopted son, Ronald Davis.
Loretha (T.D.) was educated in the Vance School System and graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High class of 1976. Loretha was employed in the hospitality industry until her health progressed. Loretha was a sweet, gentle, and compassionate woman who loved everyone, especially her family. Loretha had a heart of gold and a smile of sunshine. She gave everyone her whole heart. Loretha joined Elloree Deliverance Church and also attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Loretha took in many other children and treated them as her own. Her presence will surely be missed.
Loretha met Anthony Stukes and later they were united in holy matrimony, and to this union, five daughters were born.
Loretha transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on June 28, 2024. She leaves her cherishable memories with her husband, Anthony Stukes; five daughters, Angela (Christopher) Mazyck, Shanique Oliver, Deidre Stukes, Bridgette Stukes, and Nicole Stukes; seven grandchildren, Edward Oliver, Danika Guess, Christopher Mazyck Jr., Cadedra Mazyck, Antoine Williams, DeAndre Stukes, and DeAsia Stukes; two additional grandchildren, Duriel Mazyck and DeNiya Mazyck; one great great granddaughter, Ar'Mani Jenkins; two sisters, Dr. Rhuddene (Silas) Jamison, and Adline Oliver; three stepsisters, Vivian (Tommy) Jones, Naomi (Robert) Hunter, and Jackie (Isaiah) Jamison; two stepbrothers, Edwin (Shere) Green, and Leonard (Venetia) Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, nine sisters-in-law, and five brothers-in-law.
