Loretta Marcella Betts

Loretta Marcella Betts, age 89, passed away peacefully November 5, 2025. Loretta was born in Wellston, Ohio on February 10, 1936 to the late Luther and Margaret Hartley.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Thomas (Junior), James, Don and Robert Hartley; and sisters, Annabelle Linton and Martha Gilliland.

She is survived her son, John (Pam); daughter, Cheri; grandson, John Jr (Patricia); granddaughter, Priscilla (Dilan); brother, John (Nancy) Hartley; and sisters, Mary McCray and Jeannie (Keith) Jordan.

After graduating high school, Loretta dedicated herself to raising her children and serving the church before returning to college to earn an associates degree and work in social services.

She was a dedicated member and minister within the Beavercreek Community of Christ congregation.

Her greatest pleasures were caring for her extended family and their frequent gatherings.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm.

Loretta will be laid to rest at Valley Memorial Gardens following the service.
