Loretta S. Blish

Loretta Sylvia Blish, lovingly known as "Ret," passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by family and close friends. Born on September 27, 1957, in Keene Valley, N.Y., she was the beloved daughter of the late Alice Loretta (Gough) and Laurence Maxwell Blish.

As the oldest of seven children, Loretta carried a strength and independence that defined her throughout her life. She was truly one of a kind - outspoken and unmistakably herself. She found comfort in listening to music and cherished the simple yet meaningful moments spent with family and close friends. Her remarkable spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Loretta endured profound loss in her lifetime, including the unimaginable loss of her two sons, Steven Morgan and Casey Morgan. She was also predeceased by her parents, Laurence and Alice Blish; her brother, Leonard Blish; and other close family members.

Loretta leaves behind her son, Larry (Tom) Morgan; her siblings, Sharon (Lanny) Blish, Laurence Blish Jr., Laura (Mark) Blish, Lisa (Robert) Gile, and Douglas (Elizabeth) Blish; her eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her story will live on in the lives of the family and friends she leaves behind.
