Loretta B. Glaze, of Weathersfield Township, passed away at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 81 years old. Mrs. Glaze was born on Christmas Eve 1929 in Reesedale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Ott and Myrtle (Heppler) Bish. Mrs. Glaze worked for the FBI in Washington DC and while there she met her husband Robert Glaze, who was stationed there in the Navy and they were married on October 18, 1948. After returning to Ohio, Mrs. Glaze was employed by Strouss’ Department Store and also Young’s Market in Mineral Ridge. Mrs. Glaze was a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church in Niles and belonged to its Girls Friendly Club. Mrs. Glaze enjoyed life, but most of all her greatest hobby and enjoyment was taking care of her family. Mrs. Glaze will be sadly missed by her husband Robert, three children David (Lynn) Glaze of Howland Township, Karen (James) Fleming of Atlanta and Jeff (Susan) Glaze also of Atlanta; two sisters Anna (Edward) Frederick of Buffalo, NY and June Matson of New Bethlem, PA; two brothers Carl (Joann) Bish of Batavia, NY and Jack (Colleen) Bish of Knox, PA; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Glaze was preceded in death by sisters Jane, Irma and Mable Bish and a brother Darl Bish. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 5 until 8 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel 415 Robbins Ave, Niles, Ohio 44446. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave, Niles, Ohio 44446, with Fr. Donald Hall officiating, where family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Kerr Cemetery, Weathersfield Township. The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Loretta’s name to Good Shepherd Hospice 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, Florida.
