Loretta Mae Guyer, 88, of Girard, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Loretta was born December 12, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Romie) Jones.
Loretta was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She had worked as a custodian for Girard City Schools for several years, but she will be remembered most fondly for her life as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. The love and care of her family was her main purpose in life, especially after the death of her husband 38 years ago.
Loretta enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and occasionally enjoyed going to the casino. She also loved listening and dancing to polkas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Sheryl (William) Enyeart of Girard, David (JoAnn) Guyer of Poland, Dale Guyer of Fowler, Mary Jean (Daniel) Hepfner of Fowler, Daniel (Judy) Guyer of Girard, John Guyer of Fowler, Kirk Guyer of South Bend, Indiana and Glenn Guyer of Fort Lauderdale, Fl; Step Son, Allen (Brandy) Guyer of Tennessee; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and had recently became a great-great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Guyer, whom she married June 2, 1956 and died May 4, 1987; her step daughter, Grace Fogelman; and a great-grandson.
The family suggests any memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
