Loretta Kathryn Haygood

Loretta Kathryn (White) Haygood, 97, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. She was born in Archer, Florida, on December 12, 1927, to Franklin Edward and Rosa
Loretta White, the youngest of seven children.
Kathryn married George Hollister Haygood, and together they raised three children. After his
passing, she continued to provide for her family with strength and devotion. She worked for
many years at Sunland Hospital as a Volunteer Coordinator, where her compassion and
commitment to serving others made a lasting impact.
A woman of faith, kindness, and generosity, Kathryn spent her life supporting and caring for family,
friends, and community. She was devoted to her loved ones and remained a constant presence in
their lives.
She is survived by her son, Mike Haygood; her daughter, Mary Kennedy (David) and her daughter-in-law, Jo Haygood. She was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother of fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her son, George Holmes, daughter in law Virginia Haygood and six siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 am at the Newberry Florida Cemetery. Pastor Ben Khazraee, her grandson of Grace Church of Tallahassee presiding.
