Loretta Coughlin Maes, 85, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008. Born November 16, 1922, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of James J. and Mary (Duddy) Coughlin. After retiring from the U. S. Navy as a military processing clerk, Mrs. Maes worked for the Catholic Diocese of Arkansas. She was a member of St. Theresa�s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, and volunteering her time for the Church. She also volunteered to work the election day polls. She had lifelong friends from everywhere she and her family lived. Preceded in death in 2000 by her husband of fifty years, Deacon Robert Maes, two sisters, three brothers, and one grandson, Matthew Joseph Barron, Mrs. Maes is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Barron and Mary Theresa Batson and her husband, Dennis, all of Bryant, one son, Stephen Robert Maes and his wife, Kitty, of Harrison, Arkansas, one brother, Eugene Edward Coughlin and his wife, Laura, of St. Louis, ten grandchildren, Dawson McCown, Kevin Barron, Bradley, Brooks, Casey, and Chase Batson, and Rachel and Baylee Maes, Norman Bo and Austin Bon Buescher, and ten great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, at St. Theresa�s Catholic Church with Msgr. Scott Friend, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock (501-661-9111). Memorials may be made to St. Theresa�s Catholic Church, 6219 Baseline Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.
