Loretta Wallace Magee, age 89, of Sikeston, died Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bertrand, MO.
Born August 10, 1935, at Pope County, AR, to the late Lonnie Washington Wallace and Idelle Huggins Wallace, she had lived in Mississippi County since 1943. A graduate of Diehlstadt High School, she worked for Dr. T.P. Fenton while she received her teaching certificate. She then taught at the Rush Ridge School in rural Mississippi County as well as substituted for other schools throughout the county for several years. She then returned to health care working with Dr. Fenton and later went into nursing home care as a medicine technician at Charleston Manor before becoming the social service director at Miner Nursing Home, retiring in 2010.
On November 30, 1952, she married Vernon Eugene Magee, who preceded her in death September 6, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie Eugene (Judy) Magee of Sikeston; daughter in law, Babbie Magee of LaCenter, KY; grandchildren, Derek (Rachel) Magee of Murray, KY; Courtney (Len) O'Connor of Sikeston; Monica (Casey) Glisson of Kevil, KY, Alex (Patty) Magee of LaCenter, KY and Justin (Alaina) Magee of Hinesville, GA; 18 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; her brother, Larry (Pat) Wallace of Norman, OK; sisters, Nancy Jane (Harold) Goyins of St. Clair, Genne VE Brown of Fairdealing and Joyce Davis of East Prairie; also a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daryl Vernon Magee; granddaughter, Christy Senciboy; and sisters, Lonna Irene Belk and Juanita Ann Theil.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Interment will follow in the Armer Cemetery near Bertrand under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Derek Magee, Alex Magee, Justin Magee, Luke Wallace, Charlie Wallace, Casey Glisson and Len O'Connor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Davidson Abernathy and Shawn Parden.
