Loretta Penny passed away peacefully on December 27th, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Don Penny, whom she cherished deeply and who preceded her in death this past May. Their love was a guiding light in her life and remains an enduring example to all who knew them.
Loretta was a devoted and loving mother to her three children: Donna Dussinger, Dominick Soricelli, and Loretta Arevalo. Nothing brought her greater joy than her family, especially her eight treasured grandchildren-James Dussinger, Kyle Soricelli, Sean Soricelli, Brian Soricelli, Rafael Arevalo IV, Garrett Arevalo, Ryan Arevalo, and Isabella Arevalo-each of whom held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were deeply loved and always made to feel special in her presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished sister, Joyce, whom she missed dearly.
Born and raised in
Hoboken, New Jersey, Loretta carried the strength, resilience, and grit of her roots throughout her life. She was known for her strong will and stubborn streak, balanced by an endless capacity for love, kindness, and compassion. Her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior guided her through both joyful and difficult times, offering comfort not only to herself but to all who leaned on her strength.
Family was the center of Loretta's world. She loved fiercely and selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the faith she shared so deeply, and the unbreakable bonds of family she nurtured throughout her life.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 PM, with a reception immediately afterward, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Loretta's beautiful life.
Loretta will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
