AN OBITUARY FOR LISA
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
- George Bernard Shaw, 1903
Loretta Geneane Tharpe, 57, long time Riverside County resident, adored by all, passed away July 24, 2024 in San Jacinto, CA.
Born March 6, 1967 in Yuba City, CA, Loretta was the oldest daughter of Vernon and Amelia Tharpe. Loretta held a various roles in the industry of Warehouse and Logistics for 37 years.
"Lisa", as she was commonly known since her tenure at John W. North High School, loved spending time with family and friends. She was the resident grill master and enjoyed cooking for the family. Her unassuming humor and easy spirit was profound and made lasting impacts on many lives. Lisa always professed that laughter is the best medicine for the soul.
She liked listening to all types of music and enjoyed dancing immensely. An avid cat and dog lover, Loretta loved spending time raising her "fur babies", including several cats and her beloved Pomeranian chihuahua named "Blue".
In her spare time, Lisa often enjoyed swimming as recreation, and was an excellent swimmer. Out of the pool, she enjoyed crocheting, particularly while watching movies. She especially enjoyed following the Toretto family across the sequels of the Fast and Furious. When she neither watched movies nor crocheting, she loved going to amusement parks, and rode only the scariest of rollercoasters.
Loretta was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She had a big heart and loved helping people especially the disabled and elderly.
One the morning of Wednesday, July 24, 2024 no one knew the Lord would stretch out his hand for Loretta to come to home to forever rest. It was unexpected by us, and God knew the plan all along. Those waiting to meet and greet her at Heavens Gate include her mother Amelia Tharpe, (paternal) grandparents Vernon and Beatrice Tharpe, (maternal) grandparents Clarence and Martha Horton,
Aunt Cassandra Harrison, Aunt Colleen (Toni) Bailey, and her Pomeranian Chihuahua, "Blue".
To cherish her memories, Lisa will be remembered by her father Vernon Tharpe Jr., sister LaBrenda Tharpe, brother-in-law William Smith, nieces Daisha and Meliah Smith, and first cousins Jennifer Wright, Jessica Harrison, Odis Bailey, Dareth Timmons, and Jason Timmons, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Lisa, how we are unable to perceive the shape of you, as we find you all around us! Your presence fills our eyes with your Love... it humbles our hearts, for you are everywhere!
