Lori Denise Payne Barron went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1956, in Liberty, Texas, to John Edward and Laffelle Payne.

Denise grew up in Saratoga, Texas, and graduated from West Hardin High School. She went on to earn her degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She devoted 36 years to teaching, sharing her love of learning, and guiding countless students throughout her career.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stanley Dean Barron; her daughters, Whitney (Bart) George of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mallory (Paul) Higgins of Iowa, Louisiana; and her four cherished grandsons, John, Knox, Garrett, and Walker George. She is also survived by her siblings Phyllis Ruffino, Lavisa (Bob) Upton, Teresa (Paul) McCoy, and John (Ginger) Payne, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents, Laffelle and John Edward Payne.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Richmond, located at 502 S. 5th St., Richmond, TX 77469.

Expressions of remembrance and condolences are welcome and may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
