Lori Burnis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home on Jun. 1, 2023.
Lori Ann (Schahczinski) Burnis, 59, of Marinette, WI passed away peacefully at her home on April 5, 2023 surrounded by family and loved ones following a brief battle with cancer.
Lori was born August 28, 1963 to the late William and Bernice (Geniesse) Schahczinski. She grew up in Menominee, MI and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1981.
In her spare time Lori enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, and soaking up the summer sunshine. She loved classic rock music and was an avid concert-goer. Lori was always the life of the party, and her contagious smile and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Lori is survived, and deeply missed by her children, Ashley (Ben) and Logan Burnis, sister JoAnne Casperson, brother Robert Schahczinski, sisters-in law Linda Burnis and Tara (Marvin) Mercier, brothers-in-law Mike (Kim) and Tom Burnis, nephews and nieces Adam (Kelly) and C.J. Casperson, Rob (Lori) Schahczinski, Alex, Nicholas, Christopher (Amie), and Stephen Burnis, Spencer and Sydney Casey, grand-nieces Maggie and McKenzie Casperson, grand-nephews Jacob, Kyle, Drew, and Owen Schahczinski, and beloved grandpup Zelda. In addition she is also survived by a group of close friends who have become family throughout their many decades of friendship.
Lori's family would like to express their gratitude to the oncology and palliative care staff at Bellin Health and Unity Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Lori. We would especially like to thank Nikki Leow APNP, who made it possible for Lori to enjoy one last Styx concert and girls' weekend before her illness took over.
Visitation will be held at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, April 15th beginning at 1:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm. At Lori's request, friends and family are encouraged to join us at Bob's Bar in Marinette following the service for a celebration of life party.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Pete and Elaine Lesperance Foundation: 2416 14th Ave, Menominee, MI 49858.
