EAST PEORIA – Lori Jean Martino, 58, of East Peoria passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
She was born on December 24, 1965, in Peoria, to John "Jack" and Jean (Rubin) Burkley.
Lori married Alan Martino on February 19, 2022 in Morton.
Surviving are her husband, Alan Martino; stepsons, Christopher Logsdon, Mario Martino and Michael Martino; mother, Jean Melvin; brother, John (Angie) Burkley; sister, Jana Irvin; step-mother, Kathy (Roger) Burkley-Miller; mother-in-law, Diana Martino; half-sister, Christine (Michael) Gordon; step-siblings, Andri (Mark) Ryan, David (Merci) Melvin, Deanna (Brett) Bruce, Greg (Stacie) Melvin; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Bella
She was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Carles "Mel" Melvin.
Lori enjoyed the places she worked through the years. She worked for the Peoria Chiefs and at the Civic Center and most recently with the Lutheran Social Services where she spent 26 years.
Lori loved life, she was a people person and never met a stranger. She especially loved to cook and bake.
Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy and she cherished the relationships she shared with them.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on February 2, 2024 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Illinois Cancer Care or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
