Lori Ann Sims was born on October 29, 1961, to Charles and the late Wilma Faye Samuel in Madisonville, Texas, and made her glorious entrance into eternity on January 28, 2025. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Lori became an ordained minister under the Pastorship of Pastor Korey Thomas of New Bethel Victory Temple in Bryan, Texas. In the years prior to this and thereafter, she would preach God’s word and share of His greatness to all whom she ministered to.

Lori graduated from Madisonville Senior High School in 1980, where she was a multisport athlete, and later attended Prairie View A&M University where she studied fashion design. She was married to Charlie Ray Sims for thirty-eight years. She pursued a career in hospitality and eventually started her own business, Bless Hands Cleaning Service, along with her husband, Charlie. 

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Faye Samuel and her grandparents, Thelma McNultry, Dorothy Bell Griffin, and Ed Brown, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Charles Samuel; her husband, Charlie Sims; and her children, Charlenette Johnson (Cory), Charlotte Samuel, Charlette Samuel, Charles King (Ashley), Evelyn Sims, and Charleston Samuel. Mourning her death also includes eight sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. She also leaves behind fourteen beautiful grandchildren,TraDayja, Tra’Shayla, Domonic, Asia, Jariana, Kailey, Chloe, Christian, Jeremiah, A’yden, Brightly, Brooklyn, King O’Meir, and Jai’Qira; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Sims, officiated by Bishop Harry Davis, will be held at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 A.M., followed by burial in the West End Cemetery. A time of visitation is scheduled for one hour before the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.

Final arrangements for Mrs. Lori Ann Sims are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
