It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Lori J. Parry Volino who left this world far too soon on October 15, 2025 at her childhood home after a long battle with Crohn's and Colitis.
Lori was born on January 21, 1977 in Elmira, NY to parents John M. and Dianna R. (Guinnip) Volino. Lori was a graduate of Corning West High School, class of 1995. Lori worked a number of years in food service for Corning Catering, before devoting her time to raising her children.
Lori was a member of the Gang Mills Fire Department Auxiliary. In her free time she loved listening to music, dancing, camping and bonfires. She loved animals; especially her first love, her dog, Forest, and later Scooby.
Lori was a bright light - strong, always kind, and full of love and hope. She poured her heart into everything she did, especially being a mother. She truly never stopped trying for her kids.
She had a way when her kids were younger of making everyone around her feel seen and cared for. Whether she was playing softball or singing in the car, she was always making jokes when she could and she did it with warmth and grace. Her presence filled the room when she was in it and now, her absence fills our hearts.
Though her time here was far too short, her love and spirit will live on in every person she touched.
Lori is survived by her children: Dominic (Bobbi Jo Smith) Parry of Oswego, NY, Katherine (Casey) Osborne of DuBois, PA; parents, John and Dianna Volino of Painted Post, NY; granddaughters: Elaina Robbins, Delilah Parry; sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Zylowski of Fruitland Park, FL; and several aunts and uncles. Lori was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 12:00 PM, Pastor Kevin Austin officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post.
Her life was a gift and her memory will remain a blessing. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lori Jane Volino, please visit our floral store.
