Lorie Barnes Obituary

Lorie was born on January 17, 1952 and passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Lorie was a resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the time of her passing. Lorie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana PA in 1973 and a Masters of Religious Education at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary on the north shore of Boston MA in 1978. She was married to Peter. Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem 300 N. Cherry Street at 11:00 AM on Monday November 21 2016 followed by a reception at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts across the street from the church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Lorie Wallace Barnes Memorial Fund at First Presbyterian Church Winston-Salem NC which has been established to help children know about the love of God in Jesus Christ and promote holistic child development here in America and around the world.

Peter,
I just heard about Lorie and am so very sorry. Shocked, sad, but so grateful I had the chance to know her. It has been a while but regardless, what a breath of fresh air she was. Her enthusisiastic spirit, love of Jesus and love for people made such an impact. I'm praying God cover you and the boys with His tender mercy, strength, and peace, today and in the days ahead. Dear Peter,

John and I wanted you to know how sorry we were to hear about Lorie's illness and death. We have wonderful memories of both of you at HPPC. Lorie was such a breath of fresh air; so honest, humble and easy to get to know. I always loved her openness and sense of humor! Her obituary was amazing. She was quite an accomplished woman, a wonderful wife and mother, too. And a very joyful person.
