Lorie Straley, much LOVED Wife, Mother, grandmother, and Friend, passed away Sunday August 31, 2025.
She leaves behind her Husband of 32 years Donald, Son Douglas Straley, Wife Macey, Children Halle, Rylee, Jesse, And Ivy. Daughter Emma Wagner, Husband Soloman, Felix their son. Zachary Straley, and Matthew Straley. Sister Jill Newsome, husband Chris, Brother Richard Whitfield, and wife Laura Whitfield. As well as Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
Lorie spent years making a loving home and homeschooling our children. Showing them love, how to love, and how to be loved. Spent every available minute spoiling our Grandchildren, playing games, making crafts, sleepovers, anything she could do with family, she was there.
Lorie loved traveling, maybe even more so, she loved the planning of trips. She could be ready for a road trip on a moment's notice. She could not resist a museum, or anything historical.
Lorie spent several years tutoring in Classical Conversations, sharing her love of learning with other homeschool families, mentoring other Moms, as well as being mentored by them.
Lorie has an amazing group of family and friends that have been by her side, step by step throughout her life. I cannot begin to tell how much love she received from you all, the coffee shop visits, book clubs, get togethers at each other's homes, you were such a blessing to her.
Personally, there are no words I can say to show how much I, and our children, love her. We know she is with God now, and in no pain, she will forever be loved and missed, until we see her again.
A memorial service will be held at:
Fellowship Bible Church
1817 E. Rusk St., Jacksonville, Texas, 75766
