I was a big fan of Lorin for nearly 60 years. I had the pleasure of meeting him once in California and thanking him for all that he meant to me personally. I have nearly every recording he ever made. He was so personal and a regular guy. He kept us all excited about our profession. God Bless his memory.

It seems that Lorin Maazel was destined for greatness, and a great conductor he was. When a family loses a husband and a father in death, an overwhelming feeling of grief can consume it. Treasure the pleasant memories with him as you persevere in prayer for your Heavenly Father to comfort you during this difficult time and help you to comfort one another.--1 Thessalonians 5:19. Lorin Maazel will be remembered as one of the most successful conductors of all times!

All of Maestro Lorin Maazel's admirers throughout New York City mourn the passing of the Philharmonic's former Music Director. His years at the Philharmonic maintained the orchestra's highest standards of artistry. What an amazing, world-wide career!

We will miss Lorin's presence. It is obvious that your family will miss this special person in your lives. May the love and the special memory you shared with him show just how much your life was touched by him. May the peace promised in God's word (John 14:27) be active and may you all be helped to endure these times.

There are no words that ease the pain of having to say goodbye to a loved one. May your grieving be brief and may your joyful memories be forever. Many people in the Pittsburgh area enjoyed his talent. He will always be remembered. With sympathy to his family.

A talented musical great was among us and is now resting. He left behind a legacy, a great name, and as a wise man once said: "A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth."
